Avina Stiftung
Located in Hurden, Switzerland and founded in 1994, Avina Stiftung, promotes innovative projects in the areas of social demand, education, arts / culture and the environment, both in Switzerland and in other countries of Europe.
For ten years, Avina Stiftung, was principally dedicated to the promotion of sustainable development in Latin America through associations with leaders of civil society and business. Today, Fundación AVINA, its Latin American sister (incorporated as such in Panama, in the year 2000), has taken on this task in Latin America.

Fundación AVINA, the Latin American sister of Avina Stiftung, has teamed up with leaders of civil society and business who work towards sustainable development in Latin America, in diverse areas such as citizen participation, governance, rule of law, the conservation and effective management of natural resources; the promotion of equity, and communication for social transformation, amongst others. AVINA also endorses projects that promote innovative and inclusive economic activities, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, corporate social responsibility, and eco-efficiency.
Fundación AVINA aims at creating and implementing a new conception of philanthropy, which combines the objectives of non-profit activities with methods and tools taken from the business world.
With personalities and organizations from other continents, AVINA seeks to achieve relevant synergies for the sustainable development of Latin America.
